2024: Expository Preaching in the Local Church
In our second Grace Bible Conference of 2024, we will be addressing the topic of Expository Preaching in the local church. We will learn about its importance and how it has been and continues to be God's instrument for the sanctification of His people and for the salvation of sinners.
Preaching has been replaced by motivational messages, human ideas, mystical messages, and even messages with principles of psychology, instead of biblical principles. This pseudo-preaching seeks to tickle the ears of its audience, rather than seeking to honor God and His message.
This cannot continue like this; it must change, as the great English preacher John Stott aptly said, "Preaching is indispensable to Christianity."
What the local church needs is to return to Expository Preaching; this is the preaching that says what the Bible says, without being modified by the preacher. This is the only solution for the sanctification of God's people, and it is what our Lord Jesus Christ prayed to the Father in John 17:17 when He said, "Sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth."
